Airing Dirty Laundry

for all the world wide web to see

About Me August 25, 2007

Long-time lurker, first time blogger.

Here to “meet” new people and make new “friends”.

Excessively uses quotation marks, although it’s even more annoying in person. Trust me.

Happily married since 1999 to the love of my life and my soulmate.  No kiddos yet, but not for lack of trying.  Have a house in the suburbs with empty bedrooms, a car-seat friendly SUV, and many people asking daily “so when are you going to have children?”   I’m currently pregnant with our first child, due September 1st.  What a long, strange trip it’s been.

My plan is to post “secrets” (hence the “airing dirty laundry” name) each week or so.  My secrets may not be PostSecret worthy, but damn do I feel that I’m hanging it all out to dry.

I have an odd and somewhat unique name, so while I’m not going to “hide” it, I’ll at least think hard before using it.  Or refer to myself as a code name.  You know, so crazy stalking ex-boyfriends can’t track me down.  And you know that since I left them all heartbroken and bitter, their only thought is revenge by this point.  How sad.

I hear ya sister! “Sooooo, when do you think YOU two will have kids?” is a phrase my hub and I have have been hearing for years – although it feels like decades. I always respond “We’re not trying not to!” Just stumbled onto your blog from OMSH and because I love comments, I’m saying hi! KT

  3. Hello! Thanks for requesting me as a friend on GoodReads – I do hope you enjoy my work.

Hi! I just found you via a comment you left on The Angel Forever’s Chanukah contest. I am a fellow Pittsburgher! Isn’t the web a small world after all? I am also all too familiar with the nasty, painful world of infertilty, although I am one of the lucky ones who eventual had success. I wish you and your husband much luck and blessings in that area. (And if you want good local doc referrals…….)

Great blog! Glad to have found you!

  5. We walked the road of family inquiring on our family way. They asked. They made snide remarks (actually, hubs’ family), then I did get pregnant and well, that didn’t go so well. They stopped asking, that is until we adopted our daughter. I believe that after 5 years, they have come to realize that no one is going to do a driveby and secretly snatch her from the backyard. But still, she is a mystery in a way to them.

The journey to having a family is not an easy one for some. (Aren’t we surrounded by people who got pregnant by surprise?!) I feel your pain and I’m sorry for the troubles. I’ve been there but it all does work out in the end. Sometimes, it doesn’t work out in the way that we had originally planned, but it works out in the way that it was planned for us.

Prayers to you and your husband that a family is soon with you!
