What a great (but exhausting) weekend! Mike and I aren’t used to running around after 2 very active kids. LiLo had basketball practice in the morning, a tea party in the morning that was a joint birthday party with her friend Ella, barely took a nap, helped make the treats and crafts for her 2nd party, and then off we went to the bouncy place for her second birthday party. Then back home so that she could open the gifts we had brought for her. Kind of sad that your 5 year old niece has more of a social life than you do!
We were exhausted that night and I made my way upstairs by about 1AM. Usually when we visit them we’re up until 4Am or so, but I just didn’t have any energy left. Mike and I aren’t used to the constant activity a 5 year old and a 2 1/2 year old demand!
The drive back yesterday was uneventful. My sister-in-law JLo and her boyfriend AT slept in the backseat most of the way. Mike dozed off and on until the Steeler game came on the radio. It was a beautiful bright fall day and we took the scenic route through the hills of VA, WV, MD, and PA. I drove the entire way back and admired the colors of the trees and the views along the way. A wonderful weekend. And now, back to reality!
