I got this email from  Normally, this would be a delete-and-move-to-the-next-in-this-crazy-inbox-because-I’m-on-every-mailing-list-in-the-world, but  for whatever reason, I stopped to read it today.  And certain ones on the list really hit home.  It’s human nature to get so wrapped up in yourself and your everyday life that you don’t take time out for anyone else.  And sometimes it’s important to take the time for yourself.  So today I’m stopping to smell the roses.  And sharing the email with you.  Even if it makes one other person stop to take stock of what they do/don’t do in their lives that they should/shouldn’t, then it’s worth it.

I’m not necessarily an “unhappy” person, but I can be a real bitch at times (ask Mike, I’m sure he’d LOVE to add his two cents worth to that statement), and I have a tendency to snap at people I love when they don’t deserve it (once again–Mike).  But I don’t mean to.  And I see in myself that when I do just take a step back and relax and don’t get so frazzled and wound up (sometimes over the teeniest tiniest thing), I react much better to those around me. 

Sure, I go through phases where I’m down and I’m depressed, but I feel like I’m very aware of that kind of thing in myself after seeing my mother struggle with it for years.  And I always feel like I’m able to snap myself out of it, but I think reading this list would help me during those times.

 So I saved the email.  And I put it here on my blog.  So that any time I need it, here it is.  No more excuses.  This email truly made my day.
